- Laguna Nusa Dua with Pak Made
Landed in KLIA probably just the right time to receive almost a continuous sms New Year messages. What a good time to be back home for a good new year celebration with my family.
I was in Bali for just one night. Arrived early evening about 7pm on the 30th Dec and Pak Made was there to pick me up for a evening thrill pre-New Year celebration. We had our favourite Bintang beer and some good Balinese food at Plengkung Restaurant. Almost all hotels were fully booked with 30% increased rate. Being regular there, I got myself a room but for just one night. Pak Made, since 2000 had being a good partner with me in Bali since. We had just completed the Laguna garden with waterfalls and moving on into another job with St Regis, again, which is schedule to start in January 2011.
Back to the dinner table, well, I have my all time favourite, deep fried gouramy or ikan kalui with sambal . Never get tired having ikan kalui on your dinner plate. Hmm.. what should I do? Well, I am going to farm them for sure. Back to aquaculture? Surely, but with a different approach. That will be a part of my 2011 plan. click here: http://scarecrow50.blogspot.com/
31Dec2010. Breakfast at Ratna, nothing fanciful but with all the holiday crowds, nothing to complain. Spent the whole morning assessing the site at St Regis and were all ready after much discussion and measurements. ”Let’s do it” I said to Pak Made and he nodded. On the way out, I am always inspired what Bill has designed for the landscape. The landscape by Bill Bensley never failed to excite me. What a great guy!

Back to Dobiel at Nusa Dua for our favorite BB guling! Sorry, non-halal. This small food shop was packed with all the holiday makers. We waited and when the dishes were served, we jumped into them and almost forget everything
else. That’s all about Dobiel BB guling at Nusa Dua!
At Ngurah Rai airport, the little cute European girl, about 2 year-old, vomitted all over her chocolate ice cream and the parents stared with horror. I handed the father a roll of tissue paper, and the cute little girl started explaining and reasoned out what really happened. So sweet and so cute as she started to lecture.
At KLIA, as I switch on my phone… tweet..tweet..tweet.. and more sms messages. It reads,
